Welcome to Common Core!!

Well, it's official!  You have completed your first training session on the Common Core.  If you were like me after my first training this past summer, you are probably filled with mixed emotions.  What a job we have before us!  I just want to remind everyone of their homework to be completed before our next meeting on January 20th:

1. Watch the module Understanding the Standards before our next training on January 20th. (found on the NC Education website)
2. Print your grade specific standards before the next training on January 20th.  (If you teach 4th grade, you will need to print reading, math, science and social studies for your grade level...even if you block or currently teach 1 or 2 subjects.)
3. Review the specific standards for your grade level and subject area before January 20.

The county office will  provide you with a notebook, dividers, crosswalks and unpacking documents--which will be available in mid-November.
